Day 1 - St. Petersburg, Russia
Upon arrival and clearance through immigration formalities, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to your hotel, the luxurious Grand Hotel Europe. Set behind the elegant façade of a mid 19th century building, this thoroughly modern hotel offers a privileged river-side location in the heart of St. Petersburg, just steps away from Palace Square and the welcoming restaurants and boutiques of Nevsky Prospect.
Settle-in to your graciously appointed guestroom and then join our fellow travelers for dinner in the hotel. You and each of your fellow guests will be joined by your personal guides who will be at your disposal for three days of private touring. Meals D
Day 2 - St. Petersburg – Explore the Hermitage
Enjoy a free and relaxing morning. The best of the city is at your doorstep, so feel free to step out and explore at your own pace. This afternoon, your expert guide will lead you and our fellow guests on a private-group tour of the world-famous Hermitage Museum, including the Gold Room. Here you will see an amazing range of artifacts, from ancient Scythian gold to breathtaking jewelry of the 19th century. Meals B
Day 3 - St. Petersburg with Your Private Guide
Join your private guide this morning after breakfast, at the time you’ve designated for a comfortable start. For the next 8 hours, our expert Russian Service Corps guide – plus a car and driver – are at your disposal. If this is your first visit to this city founded by Peter the Great, you might wish to explore the renowned architectural highlights – like St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Church of the Spilled Blood. We also recommend a drive down Nevsky Prospect, the elegant commercial thoroughfare of St. Petersburg. Meals B
Day 4 - St. Petersburg with Your Private Guide
Enjoy a second day of attentive, personalized private car touring with your personal guide. This is a great opportunity to explore the palaces outside the city. At Tsarskoye Selo, you can tour the resplendent Catherine Palace, a Baroque architectural gem designed by Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Or visit Peterhof, the spectacular Imperial estate of Peter the Great. Meals B
Your private car, driver, and guide are again at your disposal for 8 hours of personalized touring. By now, you’ve explored the better-known highlights. So this might be a day to pursue your personal passions. St. Petersburg is filled with museums and monuments of every description. Here’s but a sampling: The Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic, The Museum of Artillery, The Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad, The Alexander Nevsky Monastery, The Vladimir Nabokov Museum, and the Dostoyevsky Literary Memorial Museum. Of course, your guide can also show you antique shops, local markets, or whatever catches your interest. Meals B
Note: Entry fees to museums and other sites you choose to visit on Days 3 to 5 are not included. Your guide can advise you of these costs as you discuss and plan your activities. He or she will also advise operating hours and closures so you can plan your itinerary accordingly.
Day 6 - St. Petersburg
