Day 1 - San José
Check-in to the deluxe Real InterContinental Hotel and tour the charming capital. Meet Edgar Cortez for an evening tour briefing and then dine at Il Pomodoro. Meals D
Day 2 - Through Braulio Carrillo National Park to the Caribbean
Travel through the lush Braulio Carillo National Park rainforest to the pristine, Caribbean coast for a boat tour through the wildlife-rich Tortuguero Canals. Check-in to the first class Mawamba Lodge and then explore Tortuguero village with your guide. This evening, gather for dinner and another enlightening naturalist’s briefing with Uvi Jenkins. Day 3 - Explore Tortuguero National Park
Often referred to as ‘The Amazon of Costa Rica,’ Tortuguero is a tropical wet-land filled with exotic flora and fauna waiting to be discovered. Traveling by boat with the experienced Ms. Jenkins, you’ll explore along the network of canals and waterways that wind through the wildlife-rich vegetation. In the afternoon, join Edgar for a fascinating tour through the Butterfly Farm. Meals B,L,D
Day 4 - A waterfall, a volcano & a hot spring
This morning, Mr Cortez will lead you on a rainforest walk through the Tirimbina Reserve. Along the way, you’ll have opportunity to espy some of the indigenous wildlife, including colorful tropical birds, frogs and butterflies. Continue on to Tabaçon for a restful overnight. Before you retire, relax in the soothing natural mineral pools and waterfalls of the Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort, a distinguished member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Meals B,L,D
Day 5 - Explore through the forest canopy!
Thrilling adventure awaits this morning. High above the forest floor, the lush jungle canopy is alive with unique flora, exotic birds and other wildlife. Walking safely along bridges suspended high in the tree tops, you’ll explore this hidden world. Then drive to Fortuna for lunch and shopping before returning to your resort. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - From cloud forest to coffee plantation
Drive along the beautiful shores of Arenal Lake and enjoy lunch before continuing on to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, a haven for bird watchers. An afternoon visit to a coffee and sugar cane plantation reveals the many-step process which brings these high-mountain beans to your morning coffee cup. Then watch as sugar cane is distilled into saca de guaro and sample this popular local liqueur. Enjoy a free evening at your tranquil resort, the superior first class El Establo Mountain Hotel. Day 7 - Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
