Day 1 - Welcome to the City of Sails
Check in to the 5-star Stamford Plaza Hotel, located in the heart of the city close to Waitemata Harbour.
Day 2 - Explore Auckland
Auckland is a most extraordinary city comprised of 50 islands, 3 lovely harbors, 2 mountain ranges and 48 volcanic cones. Today’s expertly guided sightseeing explores the scenic natural beauty and abundant charm of “The City of Sails.” You also visit Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World and Antarctic Encounter. Come face to face with a rich variety of species from New Zealand’s coastal waters including giant stingrays, sharks and turtles. See sub-Antarctic penguins including an 80-strong colony of King and Gentoo penguins. Watch their playful antics on the snow and their elegant flight underwater! Meals B
Day 3 - To Waitomo and Rotorua
Travel through the lush Waikato region to the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. An underground boat ride reveals the amazing site of the cavern roof aglow with millions of worms! Enjoy a delicious lunch of New Zealand fare and then continue along the forested slopes of the Mamaku Range to Rotorua. Check in to the luxurious Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort, set on the lovely shores of Lake Rotorua. Meals B,L
Day 4 - Explore Rotorua
See the roaring geysers and bubbling mud pools of the Te Puia Thermal Reserve, amazing evidence of the Earth’s tremendous geothermal forces. Then visit Rainbow Springs, a pristine habitat for native wildlife including fish and birds. A farm show at the Agrodome includes highly entertaining sheep dog demonstrations and sheep shearing. This evening, enjoy a traditional concert and Hangi, a Maori feast prepared in an earthen oven heated with volcanic stones. It’s an elaborate half-day preparation of meats and root vegetables! Day 5 - Fly to Queenstown on the South Island
Fly to Queenstown, surrounded by spectacular mountains and pristine waterways. Upon arrival, check in to the stylish Browns Boutique Hotel. Meals B
Day 6 - Excursion to Milford Sound
This unforgettable day begins as you travel along the scenic southern shores of Lake Wakatipu and onward to Lake Te Anau. Journey into the magnificent Eglinton Valley and through the amazing Homer Tunnel. Your destination is spectacular Milford Sound, a part of New Zealand’s majestic Fiordland National Park. A buffet lunch is served onboard as you cruise the icy blue waters of the Sound, enjoying the incredible scenery of Mitre Peak and cascading Bowen Falls. Return to your hotel in Queenstown where your evening is free to dine, relax and enjoy as you wish. Meals B,L
Day 7 - At leisure in Queenstown
The entire day is unplanned and free to enjoy and explore at your own pace. For the truly adventurous, there are plenty of available activities like white water rafting, jet boating and bungee jumping! Meals B
Day 8 - Onward to Mt. Cook and Christchurch
Travel through the beautiful Central Otago region and follow the shores of Lake Pukaki to Mt. Cook , New Zealand’s highest peak. Visit the charming Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo before continuing across the Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch. Enjoy a splendid 2-night stay at the luxurious Heritage Hotel, set in the historic Old Governors Building, splendidly restored! Meals B
Day 9 - Discover “The Garden City”
This morning’s sightseeing tour shows you the many highlights of enchanting Christchurch including the Anglican Cathedral, Town Hall, Canterbury Museum, Botanic Garden and the tranquil Avon River. Meals B
