Day 1 - Into the Okavango Delta
Your light aircraft flight from Maun Airport into the Okavango is included. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to the Chitabe Tented Camp, featuring luxurious East African style tents built on elevated wooden decks beneath a lush tree canopy. Each is stylishly appointed with cozy beds, a private en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and your own deck overlooking the wooded islands and lagoons of the Okavango.
The camp features a thatched dining area, pub and lounge and a crystal-clear pool, perfect unwinding after a day of thrilling exploration. Meals D
Day 2 - Game Drives in Okavango
The Okavango is an intricate mosaic of land and water, including open grassland, wooded islands, still lakes and gently flowing channels. It’s a haven for wildlife and today’s thrilling game drives offer an excellent opportunity to observe diverse species including elephant, leopard, lion, cheetah, giraffe, impala, buffalo, zebra and hippo.
Guided nature walks are also available and night drives can reward the adventurous with unforgettable sightings of rarer nocturnal animals. Meals B,L,D
Day 3 - The wetlands of Okavango
A light aircraft transports you deep into the wetlands of the Okavango. Check in to the 5-star Jacana Camp, a true Okavango water camp set on an island in one of the most abundant wetland areas of the Delta.
Built on a raised wooden deck to enhance your panoramic views over the Delta, each stylish tent includes a private verandah and en suite bathroom with roofless shower – open to the dappled sunlight above… or a blanket of stars at night! Meals B,L,D
Day 4 - Explore the Delta by Mokoro
Join your naturalist guide this morning to explore the Okavango in a Mokoro, the traditional canoe of the Bavei people. Gliding silently through the waters of the floodplain is an excellent opportunity to spot the indigenous wildlife, including numerous bird species, elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo.
Back at camp, you can refresh in the crystalline plunge pool or relax on your verandah. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk or safari game drive as flood levels permit. Meals B,L,D
Day 5 - Fly to Linyanti
Travel by light aircraft into the remote northern reaches of Botswana to the private Linyanti Wildlife Concession.
Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to the luxurious Savuti Camp where large comfortable tents are built on elevated platforms with private bathroom and shower.
The camp offers a thatched dining area and pub, refreshing plunge pool and a spacious viewing deck with fire pit overlooking the famed Savute Channel. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - Game drives along the channel
With sparse rainfall for more than two decades, the Savute Channel ceased flowing from 1980 to 2008, becoming a swath of grassland that proved irresistible as a feeding ground for herbivores large and small. In 2008, the Savute once again became a deep, clear waterway with hippo, aquatic life and numerous water birds.
Today’s thrilling safari drives explore the unique wildlife and extraordinary landscapes of this ever-changing eco-system. Meals B,L,D
Day 7 - Onward to Victoria Falls
Fly to Livingstone Airport and travel to the 5-star Toka Leya Camp, secluded on a particularly scenic stretch of the island-dotted Zambezi River close to Victoria Falls.
Built on a wooden platform, your inviting tent features a private en suite bathroom and expansive deck overlooking the River.
The camp’s dining area, lounge, bar, sundeck and infinity pool all afford breathtaking vistas onto the fast-flowing Zambezi. Meals B,L,D
Day 8 - “The Smoke that Thunders”
Known by the locals as Mosi Oi Tunya, “the smoke that thunders,” the roar and power of Victoria Falls is never far away today as you enjoy the included excursion of your choice.
You can embark on a guided tour of the Falls, step aboard a cruise along the Zambezi river, go on a wildlife safari drive, join a fishing expedition or explore the local culture with visits to the Mkuni Market and Simonga Village. Meals B,L,D
